EP67: The Psychology of Flow (from FlowPoint Podcast #12)
16/03/21 23:05 Filed in: Swerve Psyc
Welcome back for another round of Swerve Psyc, the series of episodes of The Water Ski Podcast merging sport psychology and water skiing.
This episode is an extract of episode #12 of FlowPoint Podcast (video version here), originally published on May 17th, 2017. In this episode, Matteo talks with Marcus Brown about the theory of Flow, as proposed by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. Matteo covers to some length the 9 dimensions of flow, paying particular attention to the balance perceived skill and perceived challenge, the transformation of time, clear goals, and self-awareness. Marcus also asked Matteo to develop on the experiential side of flow, including some personal examples and the continuation of how flow experiences can be beneficial in kids, something the two discussed on episode #8 of FlowPoint Podcast (video).
Thank you for all your support to TWSP and enjoy the episode!
